Fellowship Program in Hematology & Medical Oncology
Winship's Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship Program is designed for candidates who have long-term career goals in academic medicine. Offered by the Emory University School of Medicine, the three-year fellowship leads to board eligibility in medical oncology and hematology. The four or five fellows selected annually each receive three-year stipends. Fellows who are interested in additional research training and have obtained faculty sponsorship may apply to federal or private agencies for research funding during subsequent years.
During the first year of training, Hematology and Medical Oncology fellows receive broad practical experience in medical oncology and hematology through rotations at Emory University Hospital, Winship Cancer Institute, Atlanta VA, Grady Hospital and Emory University Hospital Midtown. Throughout the training period, in addition to clinical rotations, fellows have 18 months of research during the 3 year period.
