Reshma Jagsi, MD, DPhil, physician and researcher at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, has received a third Susan G. Komen Leadership Grant, bringing Komen’s total investment in Jagsi’s research to $1.8 million.
Reshma Jagsi, MD, DPhil, physician and researcher at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University and the Lawrence W. Davis Professor and chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine, has received a third Susan G. Komen Leadership Grant, bringing Komen’s total investment in Jagsi’s research to $1.8 million.
The 2026 award of $600,000 over four years will advance research aimed at improving the biological understanding of breast cancer, patient outcomes and shared decision-making in breast cancer care, reflecting the organization's continued support of her work to improve care for people with breast cancer.
“This funding will enable us to make discoveries that identify new radiation treatment options, allow us to tailor breast cancer care and empower patients to make treatment decisions that align with their values,” says Jagsi. The latest grant is part of Susan G. Komen's 2026 research investment of $15.4 million awarded to 35 investigators at 24 institutions across the United States. This year's funding supports innovative research focused on improving prevention, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship for people with breast cancer.

Jagsi is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and has received numerous accolades throughout her career, including the AAMC Group on Women in Science and Medicine’s Leadership Award, the ASTRO Mentorship Award and LEAD Oncology’s Woman of the Year Award.
