Being a Patient

At the Winship Cancer Institute, we know that cancer care can be complicated. As our patient, we want to make your experience as easy as possible.

You or your family member can request an appointment by simply calling us toll-free at 1 (888) WINSHIP (946-7447) or at (404) 778-1900.

Our team will review your information and provide a more complete response when we return your call, which we will do promptly, usually within a few hours. We will ask you questions about you and your cancer diagnosis, answer questions regarding your visit, and help you schedule an appointment.

In an effort to provide you with the best service possible, we have prepared information on what to expect on your first visit, a checklist of items to bring with you and links to useful information about insurance coverage, billing, parking, directions, lodging, restaurants and more.

We encourage you to obtain insurance coverage information directly from your insurance company or from your employer's benefits office prior to your visit.

As a courtesy, The Emory Clinic will file your insurance claims, both primary and secondary. We will work with you to help ensure you receive full benefit from your insurance company, and we will respond to requests from your insurer for additional information.

For billing purposes, it is important to note that hematology and medical oncology clinics including the ambulatory infusion centers at all Winship locations are operated by Emory University Hospital Midtown.
