Wellness for Living at Winship
It is important to understand that it takes time to recover and adjust to life after a cancer diagnosis. It may not be possible to immediately return to a previous version of normal. Determining what is the new normal may take some time.
At Winship, we understand that life after a cancer diagnosis can be anything but ordinary. That's why we are proud to offer Winship Wellness for Living, a survivorship program that provides education, social support and care to all Winship patients and their caregivers and families transitioning into post-treatment life.
Winship Wellness for Living provides:
- Outreach activities
- Educational sessions
- Support groups
- Celebrations and more; visit our calendar of upcoming Events

Your First Survivorship Visit
Every cancer survivor has different needs, so each visitor to the Winship Welllness for Living program will receive an individualized plan. We generally recommend that the first survivorship program visit be scheduled 2-4 weeks after completing cancer treatment. We encourage you to discuss this with your cancer care team at any time.
Some of the things you can expect during your visit to the Winship Wellness for Living program include:
- Integrated follow-up care with your Winship doctors
- A visit with your social worker and a brief symptom assessment
- Treatment summary
- Copy of your pathology report
- Personalized survivorship care plan
Aside from the Wellness for Living program, we offer you a variety of resources including assistance with:
- Physical issues
- Emotional well-being
- Diet, nutrition and exercise
- Finances and careers
- Follow up care
