Alex Adams
multiple myeloma survivor

"I felt that through out the entire process, this guy (his doctor) was really listening to me. He was paying attention."

After a workout with his son in 2016, Alex Adams felt something pop in his pelvis. Tests revealed he had multiple myeloma, a blood cancer affecting plasma cells in the bone marrow that can cause fractured bones. Alex describes his day-to-day battle, some days up some days down, and the side effects caused by the disease and the treatments. Alex says it's been a long process but the compassion of Winship doctors has made it bearable.

As with all treatments, individual patient results vary. It is important to discuss your cancer treatment options with your physician.
