As part of the surgical oncology team at Winship Cancer Institute, Sarah Apatov, PA-C, is responsible for first assisting in the operating room for gastric, hepatobiliary, colorectal and breast surgeries. She has extensive experience with laparoscopic and robotic surgery assistance. She also sees breast surgical oncology patients in the outpatient setting.
Before joining Emory in 2021, she began her career in surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, where she was responsible for urologic, gynecologic and head and neck surgical cancer care.

She was well informed of my medical history, which was a pleasant surprise. I've never had an experience (at least in recent years) where a provider was as proactive with my medical history. This immediately set me at ease since there have been gaps in my care.
