A board certified radiation oncologist, Vishal R. Dhere, MD, specializes in the treatment of cancers of the breast and prostate. He treats patients at Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital and Emory Proton Therapy Center. Dr. Dhere is an assistant professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine.
Dr. Dhere received his Medical Degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, where he also completed his internship in internal medicine and his residency in radiation oncology. He served as chief resident during his final year of training.

Research
Dr. Dhere's research interests include the incorporation of advanced imaging in radiation treatment planning as well as patient-reported quality of life following radiation therapy. His research has been featured as a plenary session at the annual ASTRO meeting, and presented at national and international conferences.
Publications
Dr. Dhere has been published in multiple high impact journals such as The Lancet, JAMA and Cell Reports. He has authored or co-authored more than 30 abstracts, posters, and manuscripts.
