Mark El-Deiry, MD

Background

A board certified head and neck surgeon, Mark W. El-Deiry, MD, specializes in upper aerodigestive tract, skin cancer of head and neck, and complex microvascular reconstruction. He is a national innovator in care delivery models for head and neck cancer with appointments at Winship Cancer Institute at Emory Midtown and Egleston Children's Hospital. He is one of the most experienced head and neck reconstruction surgeons in the country having performed high volumes of these complex operations for over 15 years.

Dr. El-Deiry, is an associate professor in the Department of Otolaryngology at Emory University School of Medicine, and serves as the chief of the Division of Head and Neck Surgery, and the director of the Head and Neck Cancers Multidisciplinary Program. Dr. El-Deiry also serves as the fellowship director for the Emory Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction Fellowship Program.

Dr. El-Deiry's research interests include quality of life in head and neck cancer survivors and quality outcomes involved with treating patients with advanced stage head and neck cancer.
