New EVP for Health Affairs

Emory University announced that Jonathan S. Lewin, MD, has been appointed executive vice president for health affairs. Lewin also will serve as executive director for Emory's Woodruff Health Sciences Center, president and CEO of Emory Healthcare and chair of the Board of Directors of Emory Healthcare. He will begin his tenure at Emory on Feb. 1, 2016.

Winship Welcomes New VP of Cancer Nursing
Kim M. Slusser, MSN, RN, CHPN is the new vice president of cancer nursing at Winship. She joins Emory from Duke University Hospital. In this newly created position, Slusser will be responsible for development and oversight of oncology nursing practice guidelines across Emory Healthcare to enhance the continuum of care and lead the ambulatory clinical care teams for the Emory system. She will oversee clinical quality, safety, outcomes, education and oncology nursing research.

New System Streamlines Winship Shared Resource
Winship's Cancer Tissue and Pathology Shared Resource is now using PPMS, an online platform for scientific core facilities management. "The system offers a comprehensive and at the same time user-friendly way for users and administrators to efficiently access services, track projects, and generate reports," says Charles Butler, director of the Human Tissue Procurement Service facility.
