5K Donations Hit Record Number

The final donations are in. Thanks to all Winship 5K participants, volunteers, donors and sponsors for raising $778,000 for cancer research. Mark your calendars for next year's race, October 1, 2016 at Emory University's McDonough Field.

FDA Approves New Myeloma Drug Tested at Winship
Winship was the first center, worldwide, to open the Phase II trial of daratumumab. Trial results, released earlier this year by lead author Sagar Lonial, MD, chief medical officer of Winship, were pivotal to the FDA's rapid review of this treatment for advanced-stage multiple myeloma.

Legislators Tour Winship
Winship and Emory's Office of Government and Community Affairs hosted members of the Georgia House of Representatives, the Georgia Hospital Association and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce on November 19. Guests were given a tour of the cancer research lab facilities and had a chance to engage with Winship leadership.
 
  
Lin Receives TJ Martell Foundation Award
Winship postdoc Ruiting Lin, PhD received the T.J. Martell Foundation's inaugural Clive Davis Research Fellowship Award for her work in leukemia research. Lin was presented with a $50,000 check by T.J. Martell Foundation CEO Laura Heatherly (right) and administrator Melissa Goodwin (left).
