Lonial Named Chair of Hematology and Medical Oncology

Sagar Lonial, MD, an internationally renowned expert in the biology and treatment of patients with multiple myeloma, has been named chair of the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology within Emory University School of Medicine and Winship Cancer Institute. His appointment is effective immediately.

Winship Cancer Network Names First Affiliate

Winship Cancer Institute and the Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia are teaming up as part of the Winship Cancer Network. On January 28, Archbold became the first hospital outside Emory Healthcare to join an elite group of community hospitals known as Emory's Winship Cancer Network.

Khuri Inaugurated as AUB President
The inauguration of Fadlo R. Khuri, MD as the 16th president of the American University of Beirut took place on January 25 in Beirut, Lebanon. Khuri's former colleagues from Winship who attended the ceremony included Drs. Suresh Ramalingam, Haian Fu and H. Jean Khoury.
 
  
Hanik Named Senior Nurse Manager
Rebecca Hanik, MSN, RN, CNL, OCN has been named the new senior nurse manager for navigation at Winship. She will oversee the nurse navigators across all Winship locations, and will collaborate with nursing, physician, and operations leadership to support the needs of patients and enhance the navigation program.
