Bridge Construction Begins This Weekend

Construction on a new, two-tiered pedestrian bridge on Clifton Road begins July 15. The bridge will connect the existing Emory University Hospital building to the J-Wing expansion project.

Patients and Staff to Participate in Mural Event

The Foundation for Hospital Art is hosting a mural painting event on Tuesday, July 12 from 10am to noon in Winship Building C (2nd floor) and the Glenn Building (lobby). The event is part of the foundation's nationwide PaintFest America tour that will create collaborative artwork at cancer facilities in all 50 states.

Starting July 13, Winship Grand Rounds attendees can sign in with a smartphone or laptop at winshipcancer.emory.edu/checkin. Attendees will enter their Emory credentials and a unique 6-digit access code that will be provided at each Grand Rounds.

Resident Places 30th in Peachtree Road Race
Radiation oncology resident Jason Parks, MD finished 30th out of an estimated 60,000 participants in the AJC Peachtree Road Race on July 4. Sign up today for the October 1st Winship Win the Fight 5K, a Peachtree Road Race qualifier that raises money for cancer research at Winship.

Blankets Donated to Bone Marrow Transplant Unit

Winship's Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at Emory University Hospital received a very special delivery of 100 donated blankets from two Atlanta-area Subaru dealers. Subaru is working with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to keep transplant patients warm during treatment and raise awareness. BMT Unit Director Emily Bracewell, RN and several BMT nurses were on hand to accept the blankets from representatives of Classic Subaru in Sandy Springs and Stivers Decatur Subaru.
