Issa Meets the Press at AUA Conference
The 111th annual American Urologic Association meeting in San Diego, May 6-10 featured presentations by nearly three dozen Winship Cancer Institute specialists including Muta Issa, MD, chief of urology at the Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Issa explained the findings of his new study on tele-urology at an AUA press conference.

Winship Honors Medical Heroes

More than 100 Winship patients, doctors, nurses and coordinators attended the 4th annual Medical Heroes Brunch on May 6 at the Emory Conference Center. The event honors those patients who have participated in a clinical trial at Winship. In 2015, nearly 800 patients were enrolled in 250 clinical trials.
 
 
 
     
 
 
MMRF Run/Walk
Team Winship is gearing up for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) 5K on Sunday, May 15, 9am, at Turner Field. Winship Chief Medical Officer Sagar Lonial is honorary race chair for the event that raises funding and awareness for multiple myeloma research.

Clinical Trials Expo
Learn all about clinical trials at Winship at the 2nd annual Clinical Trials Expo Monday, May 16 in the John H. Kauffman Auditorium (C5012). Participants will have two opportunities to attend from 7:00 to 8:30am when breakfast will be served and 10:00-11:30am.
