A Giant Leap Forward for DNA Nanotechnology
As reported in Nature, Yonggang Ke, PhD and collaborators from Harvard's Wyss Institute have developed a DNA nanotechnology platform that could help researchers engineer the next generation of cancer drugs. Ke, whose research is supported by Winship philanthropic and pilot funding, co-developed the first DNA brick platform as a Harvard post-doctoral fellow.

Curran Honored by Kiwanis Club

Winship member Jaydev Desai, PhD, a professor in the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University, was named a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for his contributions to medical and swarm robotics.

Winship's new National Cancer Institute comprehensive cancer center designation is due in part to the Shared Resources, including Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, which are integral to scientific discovery. The Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Shared Resource provides collaboration and services including clinical, laboratory, population and molecular cancer study design and analysis. LEO Study Team Gathers in Atlanta

Winship hosted the annual Lymphoma Epidemiology of Outcomes (LEO) study meeting Dec. 5-7 in Atlanta. Nearly 100 lymphoma researchers from leading cancer centers around the country joined Winship's Christopher Flowers, MD and Mayo Clinic's James Cerhan, MD, principal investigators of the Lymphoma Epidemiology of Outcomes (LEO) study. LEO's goal is to enroll over 13,000 patients to create a unique national resource with information on treating and surviving lymphoma.
