Hospital Tower Ready to Open

Winship Patient Climbs Mount Fuji

Winship multiple myeloma patient Deana Chiusano and her sister Deborah reached the summit of Mount Fuji last week. Chiusano is a patient of Sagar Lonial, MD and is enrolled on a phase I clinical trial at Winship. The trek was organized by the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, as part of its "Moving Mountains for Multiple Myeloma" program.

The People Behind CCC

Winship's new National Cancer Institute (NCI) comprehensive cancer center designation requires an in-depth understanding of the cancer problems in our community. Under the direction of Winship member Kevin Ward, PhD, MPH, the Georgia Center for Cancer Statistics manages the statewide population-based cancer registry for the NCI Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) Program. Registry data is used to identify emerging cancer issues, study disease progression and patient survival, and develop strategies and policies for cancer prevention and control.
