Medical Students Awarded RSNA Research Grants

Emory University School of Medicine's Ashley Joy Schlafstein and Jacob Wynne have each received a Research Medical Student Grant from the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). DAISY Award Recognizes Nursing Excellence
Winship nurses Celia Lett, NP and Devianna McBride, RN were honored with DAISY awards for demonstrating extraordinary clinical skill and compassion. The nurses were nominated by leukemia patient Tammy Baggett, who attended the award ceremony held March 24 at Winship.

Multiple Myeloma Experts to Lead Patient Summit
Sagar Lonial, MD will chair the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation's Patient Summit on April 9 at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center in Atlanta. Speakers will include Lonial and Winship colleagues Jonathan Kaufman, MD, and Charise Gleason, MSN, NP.

Workshop Spotlights Cancer Informatics

The Cancer Informatics for Cancer Centers (CI4CC) spring workshop and symposium took place March 19-22 in Huntington Beach, Calif. Madhusmita Behera, PhD, director of the Winship Research Informatics developing shared resource, chaired the meeting and gave a keynote talk, "Tapping into the Power of Real World Data."
