Winship Salutes Medical Heroes

More than 100 Winship patients, doctors, nurses and coordinators attended the 5th annual Medical Heroes Celebration on April 28 at the Emory Conference Center Hotel. The event honors those patients who have participated in a clinical trial at Winship. T Cell Revival Correlates with Lung Cancer Response to PD-1 Immunotherapy

In lung cancer patients who were taking immunotherapy drugs targeting the PD-1 pathway, testing for CD8 T cell activation in their blood partially predicted whether their tumors would shrink. The study, a collaboration of Winship and Emory Vaccine Center investigators, is published in PNAS.
