Experts Gather for American Radium Society
Winship oncologists attended the 99th annual meeting of the American Radium Society on May 6-9 in Colorado Springs. Executive Director Walter J. Curran, Jr., MD was a keynote speaker. Jonathan Beitler, MD, MBA and Ashesh Jani, MD both serve on ARS leadership committees.

Winship Urology Experts to Speak at National Meeting

Martin G. Sanda, MD, chair of the Department of Urology, will present brand new guidelines on localized prostate cancer for intermediate risk patients at the upcoming American Urology Association (AUA) annual meeting in Boston. The meeting, which starts on Friday, May 12, will also feature a plenary presentation from Usama Al-Qassab, MD, a department trainee, who will discuss the next frontier in liquid biopsy for renal cell carcinoma.

Harvey Participates in Hill Day
Winship's R. Donald Harvey, PharmD was in Washington, D.C. on May 4 for Hill Day, jointly coordinated by professional oncology societies. The annual outreach effort connects elected officials on Capitol Hill with oncologists, scientists, and other cancer research advocates.
 
  
Twitter Tutorial Now Online
Winship web and social media manager Javier De Jesus and nursing faculty Imelda Reyes, DNP, MPH, RN co-led a Twitter tutorial on May 1. The session offers tips and best practices for using Twitter as a health science professional.
