McAuliffe Named VP of Cancer Nursing

Winship is pleased to announce that Joanne McAuliffe, DNP, RN, OCN, NEA-BC is the new vice president of cancer nursing. She will lead the ambulatory clinical care teams for the Winship/Emory Healthcare cancer service line and will oversee clinical quality, safety, outcomes, education, and oncology nursing research.

Fu Named Chair of Pharmacology
Haian Fu, PhD, leader of Winship's Discovery and Developmental Therapeutics Program, has been named chair of the Department of Pharmacology at Emory University School of Medicine. His appointment is effective September 1.

ASTRO Meeting Highlights Winship Research
Radiation oncologists Drs. Jolinta Lin and Mylin Torres were among more than two dozen Winship presenters at last week's American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) annual meeting in San Diego. Torres' abstract ranked 6th among over 3,000.

The People Behind CCC

Winship's new National Cancer Institute comprehensive cancer center designation is due in part to the Georgia Clinical and Translational Science Alliance (Georgia CTSA). The Georgia CTSA is both a partner and a resource in accelerating the translation of discoveries into treatments for patients, engaging communities in clinical research efforts, and training the next generation of investigators. Recently, the Georgia CTSA received a 10-year, $51 million dollar grant from the National Institutes of Health to continue to support and expand its work throughout the state.
