Winship GI Specialists Present at National Meeting
The Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium was held January 18-20 in San Francisco. Among the Winship presenters were Drs. Field Willingham, Walid Shaib, Olatunji Alese, and Shishir Maithel. Maithel (pictured) served on the symposium program committee and has been named chair-elect of the 2019 symposium.

Winship's Rockin' Enrollers

Winship is committed to accelerating the testing of new cancer treatments through clinical research. Winship recognizes the following physicians at each Winship study site who have enrolled the most patients onto interventional cancer clinical trials during the last six months (July - December 2017): Drs. Ana Antun and Chunzhi Xia (Atlanta VAMC), Bassel El-Rayes (Emory St. Joseph's Hospital), Nabil Saba (Midtown), Mehmet Bilen (Clifton Campus), and Leon Bernal (Grady).

Emory to Host Clinical Research Boot Camp
Clinical researchers from across Emory are invited to a free, full-day workshop on Friday, Mar. 30 in the WHSCAB Auditorium. Clinical Research Boot Camp 201 will cover topics including study design, securing funding, statistical and data management resources, working with the IRB, and more.

The American Society of Preventive Oncology (ASPO) Career Development webinar on Jan. 30 will focus on the NIH grants review process including study section protocol, peer review criteria, scoring, and summary statements. The NCI's Paul Jacobsen, PhD will co-host the webinar with Hazel Nichol, PhD.
