Bruner Appointed as NCI Global Health Working Group Co-Chair

Deborah Watkins Bruner, RN, PhD, FAAN, associate director for mentorship, education and training at Winship, was recently appointed as co-chair of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Global Health Working Group. In this role, Bruner will review the NCI global portfolio and provide recommendations for the allocation of NCI's resources.

Winship Fans Attend "Heart of the Hawks" Game
Thanks to Emory's partnership with the Atlanta Hawks, dozens of Winship faculty, staff, and volunteers received complimentary tickets to the Mar. 11 home game with the Chicago Bulls. A portion of ticket sales to the special "Heart of the Hawks" game will go toward cancer research at Winship.

Among its initiatives, the committee's focus group program invites notable women scientists to discuss their career paths and challenges. Khoury Remembered at Charles Harris Run

The 38th annual Charles Harris Run for Leukemia, an event that benefits leukemia research at Winship, was held Mar. 11 in Atlanta. Participating as "Team Leukidators," Winship faculty and staff won best corporate team and honored colleague H. Jean Khoury, MD, an avid supporter of the event who passed away in 2017.
