Help Winship 5K Finish Strong!

A new video captures some of the highlights from the 2018 Winship Win the Fight 5K Race/Walk, which has raised nearly $800,000 for cancer research at Winship. And there's still time to contribute! Donations will be accepted through Nov. 30.

Marcus Receives Breast Cancer Research Grant
Adam Marcus, PhD, Winship associate director for basic research and shared resources, has received a $50,000 grant jointly funded by It's The Journey and Georgia CORE. The award will fund Marcus' project: "Isolating Rare and Invasive Breast Cancer Cells to Uncover New Genetic Drivers and Therapeutic Opportunities."

Winship Specialists Selected for EM-ProLEAD Program

Drs. Manila Gaddh, Shannon Kahn, Wilbur Lam, Mihir Patel, Zhaohui (Steve) Qin, Manu Sancheti, and Virginia Shaffer have been selected to join the 2019 class of EM-ProLEAD, Emory Medicine 's 10-month leadership development and enrichment program for physicians and senior clinical leaders.

SITC Meeting Highlights Winship Research
Winship investigators, including postdoc Matthew Farren, PhD (Lesinski lab), presented new research at the 33rd Annual Meeting of the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC), Nov. 7-11 in Washington, D.C. Farren discussed a phase II trial of patients with advanced colorectal cancer during a rapid-fire oral abstract presentation.

Emory URC Proposals Due Jan. 7
Eligible Emory faculty members are invited to apply for the annual University Research Committee Awards due Jan. 7. Funding amounts are limited to a maximum of $30,000 or $40,000 for interdisciplinary applications.
