Winship Clinical Trials Team Holds Annual Retreat

Atlanta Lung Symposium Features Winship Experts
The 12th annual Atlanta Lung Cancer Symposium, held on Nov. 3, featured presentations by a half dozen Winship lung cancer experts. The meeting was chaired by Drs. Taofeek Owonikoko and Suresh Ramalingam (pictured) and co-chaired by Drs. Walter J. Curran and Seth Force.
 
  
Winship Clinicians Present at Annual APSHO Meeting
Winship Phase I clinical trials unit Director R. Donald Harvey, PharmD (at podium) and Colleen Lewis, NP, lead nurse practitioner, were among the presenters at the Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology (APSHO) meeting, Nov. 1-4 in Hollywood, Florida.
 
 
 
     
 
 
Winship and Yonsei Investigators Hold Joint Symposium
Drs. Dong Moon Shin, Nabil Saba, Georgia Chen, and Jonathan Beitler held a joint symposium with colleagues from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea on Nov. 2. The symposium is part of efforts to develop collaborative, genomics-based research studies in head and neck cancer that will lead to new therapeutic targets.

Winship patient Eric Dunlap, who was treated for breast cancer 18 years ago, has made it his mission to raise awareness about the disease in men. Fox 5 Atlanta recently spoke with Dunlap and surgical oncologist Cletus Arciero, MD about incidence and risk factors for male breast cancer.

Cardona Appointed as ECOG-ACRIN Sarcoma Working Group Chair
Kenneth Cardona, MD has been named the inaugural chair of ECOG-ACRIN's newly-initiated Sarcoma Working Group. ECOG-ACRIN is a multidisciplinary, membership-based scientific organization that designs and conducts biomarker-driven cancer research.
