Khoury's Legacy Honored with IACH Award
Hagop Kantarjian, MD, was presented with the inaugural Hanna Jean Khoury Excellence in Research Award at the International Academy for Clinical Hematology (IACH) annual meeting held Sept. 27-29 in Paris. Woodruff Leadership Academy Names Fellows

Suephy Chen, MD, Kimberly Curseen, MD, R. Donald Harvey, PharmD, Kristin Higgins, MD, Taofeek Owonikoko, MD, Limin Peng, PhD, Patrick Sullivan, MD, Carolyn Miller Reilly, PhD, RN, and Bleu Owens will represent Winship in the 2019 Woodruff Leadership Academy, a professional development program within Emory's Woodruff Health Sciences Center.

Swimmers Raise Funds for Pediatric Leukemia Research
The annual Swim Across America event at Lake Lanier was held Sept. 22 and raised over $700,000 for leukemia research. The proceeds will support a project benefiting children as well as adults, which will be led by Douglas Graham, MD, PhD (pictured), director of the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
 
  
Winship Welcomes Cancer Education Conference Attendees
The 2018 International Cancer Education Conference, co-organized by Charles Moore, MD, was held Oct. 3-5 in Atlanta. Attendees visited Winship on Oct. 3 for lab tours and discussion with Drs. Greg Lesinski (pictured), Adam Marcus, Martha Arellano, Mylin Torres, and Kimberly Kerstann.

Window Into Winship

On August 6, Winship launched the 1000 by 2020 Clinical Trials Initiative, marking a renewed commitment to educating all clinical team members, patients, and caregivers on the benefits of participating in clinical research and how results of these trials can make a difference for generations of cancer patients to come. Winship teams at Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital (top right), Emory University Hospital Midtown (bottom right), and on the Clifton campus (left) are setting goals and tracking their progress toward clinical trials enrollment milestones.
 
 
 
     
 
 
Breastival Set for Oct. 27
The Glenn Family Breast Center at Winship, in partnership with Sisters By Choice, will host Breastival on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 10am to 2pm at Emory University Hospital Midtown. The annual event offers free clinical breast exams in a fun atmosphere with games and prizes.
