Winship Researchers Receive NCI Grant to Develop Patient Tobacco Cessation Program

Researchers at Winship have been awarded supplemental funding to the Winship Cancer Center Support Grant from the National Cancer Institute that will fund an evidence-based, tobacco-use treatment program for Winship patients. The program addresses Georgia's high rate of tobacco use and the need for a sustainable, multi-modality treatment approach for patients with varying levels of resources.

Boise Named Interim Leader of CGE Program
Effective Sept. 1, Larry Boise, PhD, will serve as Interim Program Leader of the Cancer Genetics and Epigenetics (CGE) Research Program as Winship launches a national search for the role formerly filled by Paula Vertino, PhD.
