Bradley recruited as executive vice chair of radiation oncology

Jeffrey Bradley, MD, FASTRO will become the new executive vice chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology effective Sept. 3. Bradley comes to Winship from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis where he was the S. Lee Kling Endowed Professor of Radiation Oncology, clinical director of the Kling Proton Center, and chief of the Radiation Oncology Thoracic Cancer Service.

Flowers to depart Winship for MD Anderson
After more than 16 years at Emory and Winship, Christopher Flowers, MD, MS has accepted a position at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston as department chair for lymphoma and myeloma. In the interim, the Winship lymphoma program will be co-led by Drs. Jonathon Cohen and Kristie Blum. A farewell reception will be held Aug. 12 from 4-6pm in Winship's Kauffman Auditorium.
 
  
New JScreen study helps determine breast cancer risk
Jane Meisel, MD spoke with WSB-TV on Aug. 7 about a new research initiative focused on BRCA screening for cancer risk for metro-Atlanta area people of Ashkenazi Jewish descent. Winship is partnering on the study with JScreen, a national at-home genetic screening program based in Emory University School of Medicine's Department of Human Genetics.

Archbold re-signs with Winship Cancer Network
Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia, the first center to join the Winship Cancer Network, has re-signed for another three-year term as a network affiliate. The Winship Cancer Network provides a unique opportunity for community health care organizations in the region to collaborate with Winship.
