Winship Lung Cancer SPORE awards inaugural pilot grants

Work is underway on the Winship Lung Cancer Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE) grant, with principal investigators Drs. Suresh Ramalingam and Haian Fu leading an elite team of investigators to address major therapeutic challenges faced by patients with lung cancer. On Aug. 22, Drs. Melissa Gilbert-Ross, Xiulei Mo, Ignacio Sanz, and Sumin Kang were announced as the inaugural recipients of Lung Cancer SPORE pilot funding to accelerate innovative research projects.

Annual Winship 5K luncheon marks countdown to race day

Winship Advisory Board co-chair Ann Viehman shared her survivor story at the annual Winship Win the Fight 5K kick-off luncheon on Aug. 23. With just over six weeks until race day on Oct. 5, team captains are redoubling their efforts to register participants and help the Winship 5K reach this year's goal of raising $900,000 for cancer research at Winship.
