| | NRG Oncology trial supports new practice standard in prostate cancer | An NRG Oncology clinical study led by Deborah Watkins Bruner, RN, PhD, FAAN found that a hypofractionated radiotherapy schedule, which delivers a higher total dose over a shorter period of time, is not worse than conventional radiotherapy in terms of side effects and general quality of life for patients with low-risk prostate cancer.

| | | | Luncheon honors Winship 5K team captains and sponsors | Winship Win the Fight 5K team captains and corporate sponsors came together with Winship leaders and staff for a thank you luncheon on Feb. 14. Teams were honored for helping to raise nearly $800,000 for cancer research at the 2018 event. The 9th annual Winship 5K will take place on Saturday, Oct. 5 on the Emory Quadrangle. Registration will open next month.

The Emory Proton Therapy Center, located near Emory University Midtown Hospital, is the first center of its kind in Georgia and one of only a few in the southeast to offer patients access to this type of radiation therapy.
