Two Emory hospitals named to Becker's Healthcare "100 great hospitals in America" list

Emory University Hospital and Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital have been named in Becker's Healthcare 2019 list of "100 great hospitals in America". Just three hospitals in Georgia made the list of 100, with two of them being Emory hospitals.

Study examines immune microenvironment of premalignancies
Winship investigators led by Madhav Dhodapkar, MBBS, Director of Winship's Center for Cancer Immunology, looked at early changes in the bone marrow microenvironment to understand how the host response to premalignancy is maintained and altered during malignant transformation into multiple myeloma. Lam honored with Oski Lectureship
Wilbur Lam, MD, PhD is the recipient of the 2019 Frank A. Oski Memorial Lectureship from the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (ASPHO). Lam delivered his award lecture, "Development and Clinical Translation of Engineered Microsystems for Hematologic Applications" at the ASPHO conference on May 2 in New Orleans. Paplomata presents research at ESMO breast cancer conference
Elisavet Paplomata, MD presented a poster at the ESMO Breast Cancer Annual Congress May 2-4 in Berlin, Germany. Her poster highlighted the results of a study of combination therapy in pretreated HER2+ unresectable breast carcinoma.
