Cooper honored with Lasker award

Emory immunologist and Winship investigator Max Cooper, MD was honored with the 2019 Albert Lasker Basic Medical Research Award, America's most prestigious biomedical research award. He received the award along with Jacques Miller from the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research.

Drs. Kristin Higgins, Aparna Kesarwala, and Mylin Torres participated in the Presidential Symposium on Sept. 15 during the Annual Meeting of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) in Chicago. The conference will feature over two dozen Winship presenters.

Fortin departs Winship for UCLA Health
After six years at Winship, Judy Fortin, senior director of communications, has accepted a new position with UCLA Health in Los Angeles as executive director of communications. In the interim, Catherine Williams and Javier De Jesus will handle responsibilities for content creation, web, and social media activities at Winship.
