| | Curran joins cancer center directors in letter to President | Walter J. Curran, Jr., MD and 97 cancer center directors signed the Association of American Cancer Institutes’ March 23 letter to President Donald Trump about the COVID-19 emergency. The letter urged invoking the Defense Production Act and mobilizing units of the U.S. military to meet the demand for supplies, facilities, and medical personnel.

| | | | Emory Johns Creek Hospital receives Magnet recognition | Emory Johns Creek Hospital has received its first Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the most esteemed honor given to a health care organization for nursing excellence and patient outcomes. Emory Johns Creek Hospital is the fourth facility in the Emory Healthcare system to receive this recognition.

| | Winship nurses publish study on peppermint oil | In a study funded by a Daisy Foundation award, Winship nurses found that use of peppermint oil was effective in decreasing the intensity of nausea experienced by patients undergoing chemotherapy. The results of the study were published in the April 1 issue of Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing.
