Another side to cancer immunotherapy? Emory scientists investigate intratumoral B cells

Investigators from Winship and Emory Vaccine Center found HPV-specific B cells and plasma cells in HPV+ head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, opening the door for future immunotherapy applications. The study was published on Nov. 18 in Nature.

Collaborators validate new pediatric disease risk index
Muna Qayed, MD, MS and colleagues from 16 international institutions have developed and validated a pediatric disease risk index for children and adolescents with myeloid or lymphoblastic leukemia undergoing hematopoietic cell transplant. The study was published Nov. 18 in the journal Blood.

Rural‐urban differences in food acquisition practices
Michelle Kegler, DrPH, MPH and colleagues from the Emory Prevention Research Center and Stanford Prevention Research Center led a national study examining rural-urban differences in food acquisition behaviors and how they may impact obesity. Their findings were published Nov. 17 in the Journal of Rural Health.
