Virtual Winship 5K starts this Saturday

Emory University President Gregory Fenves invites the Emory community to take part in the virtual Winship Win the Fight 5K, which kicks off a week-long series of events this Saturday, Sept. 26 and culminates in a celebratory program the morning of Oct. 3. This unique event supports talent and resources from throughout Emory to advance cancer research.

Certain PIK3CA-mutated tumors may respond to p110α inhibition
Jennifer Spangle, PhD and colleagues have found that patients with breast and other tumors characterized by PIK3CA C-terminal mutations may derive clinical benefit from p110α-selective inhibitors. Spangle is first author of the study published Sept. 14 in PNAS.
