| | Capivasertib shows promise in patients with rare tumor mutation | Kevin Kalinsky, MD, MS and colleagues found that patients with AKT1 E17K-mutated metastatic tumors had a clinically significant response to capivasertib, an oral drug that targets AKT. The results of this non-randomized, NCI-sponsored trial (MATCH subprotocol EAY131-Y) were published on Dec. 30 in JAMA Oncology.

Mehmet Akce, Olatunji Alese, and Walid Shaib will present research during the colorectal cancer and pancreatic cancer poster sessions at the 2021 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium, taking place virtually Jan. 15-17.
