Bradley named interim chair of Department of Radiation Oncology

Jeffrey Bradley, MD has been appointed the new interim chair of the Emory Department of Radiation Oncology. Bradley, previously the executive vice chair of the department, succeeds Walter J. Curran, Jr., MD in the role.

Abatacept shows promise for acute GVHD
A multi-center phase II clinical trial of abatacept showed a significant reduction in the rate of severe acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) following unrelated donor hematopoietic stem cell transplant. Drs. Benjamin Watkins, Muna Qayed, and Amelia Langston were co-first and co-senior authors of the study published Jan. 15 in the Journal of Clinical Oncology.

GASCO annual meeting to feature Winship oncologists
Drs. Suresh Ramalingam, Bassel El-Rayes, Kevin Kalinsky, and Jane Meisel will present at the Georgia Society of Clinical Oncology (GASCO) Annual Meeting and Best of Oncology, an educational program for Georgia oncologists taking place Feb. 12-13. The virtual event will highlight some of the year’s most significant treatment advances.
