Winship names Elkin Fellows and Rochfort Scholars

Four Winship trainees in hematology and medical oncology, radiation oncology, and surgery are recipients of this year's Nell W. and William Simpson Elkin Fellowship and Chester Rochfort Scholarship. The awards are given out annually to extraordinary physician-scientists enrolled in eligible Emory training programs and who have cancer-related career goals. Precision medicine with multiple myeloma
"Precision medicine" is an anti-cancer treatment strategy in which doctors use genetic or other tests to identify vulnerabilities in an individual's cancer subtype. Winship multiple myeloma investigators, including Drs. Vikas Gupta, Jonathan Kaufman, and Larry Boise, are working to apply this strategy to using a promising drug called venetoclax.
