Winship names Elkin Fellows and Rochfort Scholars

Four Winship trainees in hematology and medical oncology, radiation oncology, and surgery are recipients of this year's Nell W. and William Simpson Elkin Fellowship and Chester Rochfort Scholarship. Precision medicine with multiple myeloma

"Precision medicine" is an anti-cancer treatment strategy in which doctors use genetic or other tests to identify vulnerabilities in an individual's cancer subtype. Winship multiple myeloma investigators, including Drs. Vikas Gupta, Jonathan Kaufman, and Larry Boise, are working to apply this strategy to using a promising drug called venetoclax.

How promiscuous protein droplets regulate immune genes

New research from Eric Ortlund, PhD, Xu Liu, PhD, and colleagues sheds light on how an important regulator of the immune system switches its function, based on its orientation and local environment. The results were published this week in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
