Suresh S. Ramalingam, MD, has been named executive director of Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. Ramalingam, who has served as Winship's deputy director since 2016, begins his new post July 1.

The Rollins Immediate Care Center of Winship at Emory University Hospital, set to open in spring 2022, is harnessing the expertise of Winship patients, providers, researchers, and staff as part of its Integrated Facility Design team. The team recently turned floor plans into a life-size cardboard model of the unit.

Oncology nurses gather virtually for Winship symposium
Over 500 oncology clinical nurses, nursing researchers, advanced practice providers, and students from 14 states attended the 12th annual Winship Oncology Nursing Symposium on June 12. Sessions will be available online through July 14, enabling participants to earn up to 21 continuing education units (CEUs).

JAX offers NCI-funded courses in cancer models
The JAX Cancer Center is offering two NCI-funded courses for cancer researchers. The 30th Annual Short Course on Experimental Models of Human Cancer (Aug. 16-27) will be held virtually, and the Workshop on Techniques in Modeling Human Cancer in Mice (Sept. 12-18) will take place in person in Bar Harbor, Maine.

Seminar series explores fluorescence imaging
The Integrated Cellular Imaging Shared Resource will host a free virtual education series covering the entire workflow of quantitative fluorescence imaging, from labeling protocols and scope optimizations, to figures and methods.
