Three Emory hospitals top Newsweek’s list of World's Best Hospitals

Three Emory Healthcare hospitals have been named as top U.S. and Georgia hospitals in Newsweek’s list of The World’s Best Hospitals 2021, which ranks 2,000 leading hospitals in 25 countries. In Newsweek’s “Best Hospitals 2021 - United States” list, Emory University Hospital ranked No. 30, Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital ranked No. 93 and Emory Johns Creek Hospital ranked No. 178 nationally out of 334 hospitals that made the list.

The perspective, which describes the need and a potential pathway for identifying new targets, was published on March 4 in Cell.

Eaton and Horwitz receive Peach Bowl LegACy Fund grants
Drs. Bree Eaton and Edwin Horwitz are the recipients of this cycle’s Peach Bowl LegACy Fund grants. The awards will support Eaton’s project on sMRI for pediatric high-grade gliomas and Horwitz’s project on acute GVHD for patients with hematologic malignancies and myelodysplasia.

Jayme Carrico, MBA joins Winship on March 8 as director of operations for Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital, where he will oversee daily and strategic clinical operations for the site. Peacock named director of spiritual health
Caroline Peacock, LCSW, MDiv has been appointed as director of spiritual health for Winship. Peacock, who joined Winship in 2017, also serves as vice chair for wellness in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology.
