Winship study published in The Lancet shows increased failure-free survival rate in prostate cancer patients

Men who have undergone surgery to remove their prostate show an increased rate of survival when their treatment is guided by a molecular imaging technology invented and developed at Winship. The results of the study, led by Drs. Ashesh Jani and David Schuster, were published May 7 in The Lancet.

Eaton receives NCI Cancer Clinical Investigator Team Leadership Award
Bree Eaton, MD, has received a National Cancer Institute (NCI) Cancer Clinical Investigator Team Leadership Award (CCITLA). The award, an administrative supplement to Winship’s Cancer Center Support Grant, recognizes and supports outstanding mid-career investigators involved in NCI-funded collaborative clinical trials.

Jarquin receives ASH Minority Hematology Graduate Award
P.J. Jarquin, a doctoral student in the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering, has received a 2021 Minority Hematology Graduate Award from the American Society of Hematology (ASH). Jarquin studies red blood cell development in health and disease under the mentorship of Drs. Sakis Mantalaris and Nicki Panoskaltsis.
