Owen named Winship's chief marketing and communications officer
Jennifer R. Owen joins Winship on Nov. 22 as chief marketing and communications officer. Owen, who previously served as VCU Massey's senior director of PR and marketing communications, will lead Winship's communications team in promoting the institute's research, treatment, and educational mission.

Jaydev Desai, PhD, is one of two inaugural recipients of the Peterson Professorships from the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Pediatric Technology Center at Georgia Tech. Pediatric team receives Survivorship Champion’s Prize
Ann Mertens, PhD, MS, Karen Effinger, MD, MS, Jordan Marchak, PhD, ABPP, and colleagues from the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, were honored with the 2021 Survivorship Champion’s Prize from Children’s Cancer Cause, in recognition of the team’s innovative work to provide comprehensive, integrated care for childhood cancer survivors.

Winship researchers receive SITC Young Investigator Awards
Postdoctoral fellow Sruthi Ravindranathan, PhD, MS, and doctoral students Caroline Jansen and Nataliya Prokhnevska, are the recipients of Young Investigator Awards from the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC). The three travel awards recognize their outstanding oral abstracts and poster presentations at SITC’s 2021 annual meeting.
