Four Emory Healthcare hospitals included in Newsweek’s lists of World’s Best Hospitals 2022

Four Emory Healthcare hospitals have been named top Georgia and U.S. hospitals, and one has been named a top global hospital, in Newsweek’s lists of the World’s Best Hospitals 2022. This year, Newsweek ranked over 2,200 hospitals in 27 countries, as hospitals continue to deliver the highest quality of patient care while still battling the COVID-19 pandemic.

Winship teams receive Donaldson Charitable Trust pilot grants
Kimberly Hoang, MD, Jaydev Desai, PhD, MA, Gabe Kwong, PhD, and Madhav Dhodapkar, MBBS, have been awarded pilot grants from the Donaldson Charitable Trust Research Synergy Fund. The one-year, $125,000 grants are offered jointly by Winship, the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and the Department of Biomedical Engineering.

Langston and Marcus celebrated as Winship 5K Professors
A reception celebrating Winship 5K Professors Amelia Langston, MD, and Adam Marcus, PhD, was held March 10 in Winship’s John H. Kauffman Auditorium. The two endowed professorships are funded through proceeds from the Winship Win the Fight 5K Run/Walk.
 
  
Castellino named scientific chair of COG committee
Sharon Castellino, MD, has been named scientific chair of the Hodgkin Lymphoma Committee of the Children’s Oncology Group. In this role, she will oversee and set priorities for clinical trials with the goal of improving equitable trial access, outcomes and quality of life for young patients.
 
 
 
     
 
 
Chandler named oncology specialty director
Pauline Chandler, DNP, RN, RN-BC, has been named Winship's specialty director for oncology services at Emory Decatur Hospital. In her new role, she will be responsible for the oversight and successful performance of patient-centered care services, nursing operations, patient safety and nursing quality outcomes.
