Emory Healthcare has been recognized as one of America’s Best Large Employers by Forbes magazine in 2022. Emory Healthcare ranked No. 55 out of 500 top large employers and No. 14 out of 48 organizations in the Healthcare & Social category. Emory Healthcare is only one of two health care systems in Georgia to make the list and ranks as the top health provider in the state.

Challenge Award funds new prostate cancer study at Winship
Sagar Patel, MD, and co-principal investigators Brian Olson, PhD, and Anant Mandawat, MD, have received a two-year, $750,000 Prostate Cancer Foundation-Pfizer-Myovant Challenge Award for a new clinical trial at Winship studying the effect of androgen deprivation therapy on the heart. The goal of the trial is to optimize treatment selection for men with prostate cancer and reduce treatment-related cardiovascular side effects.
 
 
 
     
 
 
Kwong lab develops biosensors for quick assessment of cancer treatment
Gabe Kwong, PhD, and his team have developed a system of synthetic biosensors that, through a non-invasive urinalysis, will let a patient and doctor quickly learn if an immune checkpoint blockade therapy is working. The research team shared their work in a study published March 3 in the journal Nature Biomedical Engineering.

A Cure in Our Lifetime's spring breakfast fundraiser will be held on March 30 at the Woodruff Arts Center. The not-for-profit organization provides resources for those who have breast cancer, promotes breast health through outreach and has funded innovative breast cancer research at Winship and other institutions.
