"Simple, effective interventions are needed to support the cancer clinical trials enrollment process."

Winship researcher Kate Yeager, PhD, RN, is the recipient of a $65,000 grant from The V Foundation for Cancer Research and Hooters Restaurants of America for breast cancer research. The money will go toward the creation of educational videos that will help increase enrollment in breast cancer clinical trials.

Yeager, a research assistant professor at Emory's Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, says "Simple, effective interventions are needed to support the cancer clinical trials enrollment process. This multi-disciplinary effort is a first step to provide educational programs to a diverse group of patients with the end goal of increasing enrollment rates. Results of this study will inform future educational programs and can be adapted to other groups."
