Winship's Immediate Care Centers provide acute care for patients experiencing cancer-related symptoms that require immediate medical care.
Immediate Care Tailored to Your Needs
As a patient being treated for cancer, you may experience symptoms or side effects that require immediate medical care.
At our Immediate Care Centers, you have access to a specialized team of oncology doctors, nurses and advance practice providers, who are trained to deliver specialized triage, diagnostics and treatments that are often unique to patients with cancer. Having an immediate care center dedicated to patients like you and staffed by oncology specialists makes your cancer care seamless.
Our team can address issues related to cancer that need pressing attention but are not life-threatening, such as:
Bleeding
Electrolyte imbalances
Pain management
Fever or infection
Dehydration
Anemia or thrombocytopenia
Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
Respiratory symptoms
Central line issues
If you are experiencing more serious and complex issues, a visit to the emergency room, or even hospitalization, may still be needed.
Our Immediate Care Centers are available for oncology patients of Emory Healthcare (all Emory hospitals and clinics) and is accessed through a referral from your Winship cancer care team. Your Winship doctor or nurse coordinator will schedule your appointment at one of our Immediate Care Centers.
