Biography
Heather Ferrell, MSN, AGPCNP-C, AOCNP, is a nurse practitioner with the Oncology Diagnostic Clinic at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. She specializes in evaluating patients who present with clinical signs or radiologic findings suspicious for a new cancer diagnosis. She has previously enjoyed working in many oncologic specialties including blood and marrow transplant, breast, lung and colon cancers, and lymphoma and myeloma.
Education
Ms. Ferrell received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She completed fellowship training in oncology at Levine Cancer Institute in Charlotte, North Carolina. She is a board-certified advanced oncology nurse practitioner.

NP, FERRELL, HEATHER LAVON, was an exceptional healthcare professional during my very first visit to Emory Oncology Dept. Ms Ferrell has a warm personality, caring and attentive to the patient's inquiry and concern She did examine, explain my condition and the next options that are available to me. She did press for an earliest MRI for me with the nursing staff, and then called me with the Labs results. She also called me for referral to the next treating physician to be in charge of the treatment and next procedure.I want to congratulate Emory Healthcare for hiring and retaining Ms. Ferrell who is an outstanding NP to whom we can trust in her social and medical ability to care and treat when we come to Emory Healthcare.
