Dr. Umpierrez the acting division director of the musculoskeletal division at Emory University. She is a board certified clinician educator with research interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound and MRI. She is involved in education of residents and fellows, as well as in expanding the use of diagnostic ultrasound throughout the Emory healthcare system and developing countries. Dr. Umpierrez also has active research collaboration with the Orthopedics Department in determining factors for graft failure after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery.
