Background
A board certified radiation oncologist, Dr. Zhong specializes in the treatment of central nervous system malignancies, including brain and spine tumors. He treats patients at Winship Cancer Institute's Clifton campus and Emory Proton Therapy Center.
Dr. Zhong completed medical school at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina. After medical school, Dr. Zhong returned to his home city of Atlanta, Georgia to complete his residency in radiation oncology at Emory University School of Medicine. He was selected to serve as chief resident during his final year of residency training.

During his training, Dr. Zhong earned several honors including the 2017 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Conquer Foundation Merit Award and the Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award.
