Goals and Objectives

The Cancer Immunology Research Program aims to understand the cellular and molecular mechanisms governing anti-tumor immunity and to develop and evaluate novel immunologic strategies for cancer treatment and prevention.

Transformational Research in Cancer Immunology

The Cancer Immunology Research Program's overall goal is to conduct transformational research to reduce the cancer burden among patients and populations at risk for cancer.

Program Objectives

The overall scientific objectives of the program are to:

  1. Identify the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying regulation of anti-tumor immunity.
  2. Discover and test new immunologic approaches to treat or prevent cancer.

Career Development and Community Engagement

Our program leaders develop programmatic content, meetings and retreats, and foster a diverse research environment that enhances training for the next generation of cancer researchers and promotes career development of underrepresented scholars.

Our program members interact closely with Winship's Office of Community Outreach and Engagement to address catchment area priorities and engage in bi-directional communication with community stakeholders.
