Young Adult Survivorship

Monitoring your health on a yearly basis can help prevent problems and can also help you better manage late effects. The providers at our Young Adult Cancer Survivorship Program are here to ensure your unique needs are being met.

If you were treated for cancer as a child, are 21 years of age or older and two years off treatment, you should contact our Young Adult Cancer Survivorship Program for a consultation.

Our specialized team will talk to you about your cancer, the treatment you received and any late health effects for which you may be at risk. We will coordinate a plan to monitor and reduce your risks for late effects.

Part of the plan may involve connecting you to a network of clinicians throughout Winship and Emory Healthcare who are familiar with the needs of young adult cancer survivors, including endocrinologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, fertility specialists, urologists, neuro-rehabilitation specialists and medical oncologists. We also work closely with the Winship at Emory Cardio-Oncology Clinic because sometimes cancer treatment can impact a patient's heart health.

If you would like to discuss female fertility issues or family planning, we can refer you to the Emory Reproductive Center. We can also refer men to a urologist with expertise in fertility preservation and infertility treatment.
