Pre-College Programs

Winship Cancer Institute offers learning experiences for middle and high school students that develop academic and professional skills in different areas of cancer-related research.

Winship currently hosts two educational programs for pre-college students, Summer Scholars Research Program and Data Detectives.

Summer Scholars Research Program

The Winship Summer Scholars Research Program is a non-paid internship offering high school seniors a unique immersion experience with exposure to real-world cancer research under the guidance of faculty mentors.

Data Detectives

Supported by Winship Cancer Institute and NIH SEPA Program, Data Detectives is a STEM program in collaboration with Georgia Science Education Initiative (GSEI) run as an after-school program in middle schools across Georgia and as a summer academy held at Emory University.
