Pre-College Programs

Winship Cancer Institute offers learning experiences for middle and high school students that develop academic and professional skills in different areas of cancer-related research.

Winship currently hosts two educational programs for pre-college students, Summer Scholars Research Program and Big Data Academy.

Summer Scholars Research Program

The Winship Summer Scholars Research Program is a non-paid internship offering high school seniors a unique immersion experience with exposure to real-world cancer research under the guidance of faculty mentors.

Big Data Academy

Supported by Winship Cancer Institute and NIH SEPA Program, Big Data Academy is a free summer academy hosted by Citizen Science HD for middle school girls focused on analyzing real data from patients with cancer and on how to discover what causes cancer.
